The battle is heating up with The Beaver Lake Cree Nation winning the right to take Canada and the Alberta government to court. The aim of the lawsuit is to force the two governments to honour treaty rights and push back against tar sands development […]
Although many researchers agree that female hair loss is a developing phenomenon, no one seems clear as to exactly why this is happening. It could be stress, genetic factors, thyroid issues, pollution, etc. There are two main types of hair loss. The first is over […]
The featured dessert of the week at metro grocery stores is this amazing Chocolate Cranberry Loaf. It’s not only really good tasting but it’s also not too sweet. I have served it twice to guests this week and will be adding them to my annual Christmas Food Baskets this year for gift giving. Available now at most Metro grocery stores near you. Metro my Grocer!

Naomi Klein’s new book dropped this summer and it is a must read for anyone interested in burgeoning corporate power, the environment and how recent political changes will affect it. It offers hope in an era of shock politics and helps us find a way out. It is a compilation of her life’s work in which she lays out how corporate branding and marketing has led us to this moment , how Trump capitalized on that, and what we can do about it. I’ve recommended this book to so many people and will continue to do so. An absolute must read!
Editmagazine is completely obsessed with the perfect combination of almond shaped toe and heel in a boot. These Club Monaco boots which are mid calf height are it. At first glance, you would assume these would cut your leg in a very unflattering place, and […]
The True Food Kitchen in Santa Monica is truly one of our favourite places to eat in Santa Monica and in Los Angeles in general. The food is local, seasonal, and usually organic, which is always a recipe for success in my opinion. The vibe is laid back Southern California. The menu is a fusion of many items which would appeal to a wide variety of tastes. There are both vegetarian and non vegetarian items on the menu. My favourite thing on the menu is the bison burger served with sweet potato and kale. There is also a drink called the Hangover Treatment which is a blend of pineapple juice, orange juice and coconut water, which is a big hit whenever we have out of town guests. Oh, and the best thing of all, there is a huge parkade just next door. We would definitely recommend this place after spending time on the pier. It’s a great place to wind down and refresh or kick back with friends. True Food Kitchen, 395 Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica
